Registration Q & A
Q: How do I register my student?
A: Student Registration Link New student registration is designed for students who were not in a seat on the last day of school at a Denton ISD school for the 2024-2025 school year. Q: What are the requirements to register my student?
A: To register a student in any Denton ISD school you will need the following:

Q: I completed the New Student registration. When can I get a schedule?
A: Welcome! We are glad you're here. Once the registrar reviews your documents and receives records from your previous school, she will reach out to you to set up an appointment to meet with your child's counselor. At this appointment, your student and counselor will discuss their academic plan, and build your students' schedule.
Q. I completed registration but I keep getting emails?
A: Remember: Registration is a 2-step process. Please check that your registration process was complete and that you received a confirmation email. In the confirmation email is an embedded link to upload the necessary documents to complete your students registration. PLEASE NOTE: The upload link is a unique link for that particular student. Please do not share, or use the link for other children, as this will cause a delay in processing your students registration.
Q: Do you have in-person registration?
A: Unfortunately, all registration is done online. We will offer in-person assistance in July. (please return to view those days)
Q: What happens if I don't complete my student registration?
A: Your student cannot start school unless all documents are completed. (Regardless of whether they have a schedule) If your student arrives at school, you will be called to complete registration or asked to pick them up.
Q: I want to speak to my child's counselor.
A: We are excited to start the new school year. Our counselors are hard at work advocating for our students to have a successful start. For this reason, counselors are unable to meet with parents without an appointment. Please use the QR code listed on their website to set an appointment with your students counselor.
Q: Where can I find a list of school supplies?
A: Other than pens, pencils, and paper, teachers will discuss with students the first week of school what is needed for their class.

All students in Denton ISD are required to attend their home campus based on the parent/or legal court-appointed guardian's address.
New student registration is handled in a 3-step process. (Your student is NOT considered enrolled until all three steps have been completed.)
• Step One: Please complete the Online New Student InfoSnap Enrollment Application HERE.
• Step Two: Once the Online New Student InfoSnap Enrollment Application is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with an upload link to upload the following REQUIRED documents: This is a unique link assigned to that particular student. Please DO NOT share or use the link for other students, as this will cause a delay in the registration process.
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Immunization Record
- Transcript, with credits and grades
- Withdrawal Paperwork, which includes a current class list with up-to-date grades
- Proof of Residency, in the form of water, gas, or electric bill from the past 30 days. Lease with the guardian's name and name of the student. (We cannot accept cable, internet, cell, or motor vehicle information. More information is available. HERE
- Guardian ID
Step Three: Once the Registrar’s Office has ensured all necessary documents are complete, we will contact you to schedule an enrollment appointment with your student’s new counselor.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL. You will be advised that all registration is completed by appointment ONLY. Enrollment appointments are only available in the morning.
It is our deepest wish that all new students complete the enrollment, registration, and scheduling process prior to the first day of the calendar school year. Due to the inflexation of students moving into the district, campuses are hard at work during the registration period. To help speed up the process please upload any Report Cards & Student records from previous schools.
Withdraw
We are sad to see you go and wish you nothing but the best!
If your student has any outstanding balances, books, equipment, Chromebook (and charger), or uniforms, the Registrar’s Office will have to collect those items before completing the withdrawal packet.
To start the withdraw process, please complete the INTENT TO WITHDRAW FORM HERE For student safety, only a parent or guardian listed on the Birth Certificate can un-enroll a student.
Once the above process is complete, we can provide you with a student withdraw packet containing everything that your student will need to enroll at their new school.
Due to student confidentiality, we cannot send information via Email.
If your student is seeking a home school program, please know that Denton ISD requires the completion of an Exhibit J, which states that your student will be starting on a specified date; this informs the registrar's office on how we should expect the request for records for your student and helps assure that your student is being provided educational services. A blank Exhibit J can be found HERE.

Transfers
Transfer information can be found here. The student transfer portal opens 2 times a year, and may be closed to campuses based on attendance and teacher ratio. Please note, student transfers are not guaranteed and are based off of several factors ( attendance, campus ratio, discipline).
Transfer Points to Remember:
Transfers:
- If your student is currently ON an approved Intra-District Transfer (lives INSIDE Denton ISD) or Inter-District Transfer (lives OUTSIDE of Denton ISD), and is not moving to another campus, you do not need to apply for a transfer.
- If your student is moving from middle school to high school, such as 5th to 6th grade and 8th to 9th grade, you MUST complete a new transfer request application or your student will attend their zoned middle school or high school.
A Request to Remain:
- This must be completed if you have moved into a different Denton ISD attendance zone or out of Denton ISD District DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. Requests to remain are only valid for the current school year in which the change occurred. These requests can be found in the link above. IF your student is on an approved request to remain this school year, you are REQUIRED to apply for a transfer during the open transfer window to remain at the campus for the subsequent years.
- If you move during the summer or fail to apply for a transfer during the open transfer window, the Request to Remain option is not available. The student MUST apply for a transfer during the open transfer window. Again, use the link below to find all the request options and the dates the transfer window is open.
